Punch art nutcracker …

Hello and welcome to my blog.

It’s been a while, but I am delighted to be joining the lovely ladies over at the Christmas Card Throwdown challenge blog this week with their wonderful nutcracker challenge, and you still have time to join them too. It doesn’t matter how many stamps sets I own (and I have quite a few!), there always seems to be an occasion when I don’t have anything suitable, and when that happens, I turn to punch art to fulfil the brief …

I am lucky to own quite a library of Stampin’ Up punches, some new, some retired, but all really useful for making this cute little guy.  How many different punches do you think I used?

Inking the edges of the cardstock really brought him to life – what do you think? I popped him up on dimensionals and put him centre stage. I thought there was enough going on on the outside of the card so stamped the sentiment on the inside.

I hope you like my card for this week. The Design Team has created lots of lovely cards to inspire you, so do pop over to the Christmas Card Throwdown challenge blog to take a look.

I love receiving your messages, so if you have any questions, or you just want to say hi, do please leave me a comment.

Cozy critters and foxy friends for Christmas …

Hello and welcome to my blog. Wow! November is flying by – not many weeks to Christmas now! I’m hosting this month’s challenges over at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown.  This week, I have a colour challenge for you … lime green and real red – fun huh?

I am loving the cute little fox from the Cozy Critters stamp set by Stampin’ Up.  I first stamped the fox in real red, then masked him off before stamping the trees from the Foxy Friends stamp set in an old, but favourite, colour from Stampin’ Up – green galore – love it!

I added cute little antlers from the Foxy Friends set in soft suede, and stamped the sentiment in the same colour.  The Christmas ornaments come from the Cozy Critters set too …

The lush, lime green, glittery ribbon was my latest bargain – in the sale after Halloween but just perfect for my card.  I got the red pom pom ribbon in the sale from Stampin’ Up too – I do love a good bargain, don’t you?
