Owls, farewells and party this way …

My friend and colleague has taken a year out to do some volunteer work in the Sudan. It’s something she’s always wanted to do, and she is so brave to follow her dream.

We are happy for her but will miss her while she’s gone, so I used my owl punch and party this way stamp set from Stampin Up to make a good luck card for her send off…

I gave each owl different coloured eyes – the brown eyes (chocolate chip) look huge! – and gave each owl different wings, positioning the wings to make it look like were waving goodbye. I think she liked it!

I love the party this way stamp set, it is so versatile, and I have used it so much on a variety of cards. All I need now is a punch to punch out those bunting flags that I have to cut out by hand at the moment!

I used bashful blue for the sky and some designer series paper to represent the grassed area. I then had loads of fun mixing up bright colours – tempting turquoise, melon mambo, pumpkin pie and green galore (retired) – to make the card really cheerful.

Parisian farewell…

I’m still in love with the vintage look…can’t get enough of seam binding ribbon, distressing, the images, the lot!  And when I needed a farewell card for a friend recently here’s what I put together for her…

I used a mixture of images from the Artistic Etchings and French Foliage stamp sets.  These two sets go soooo well together – love it!  And it was so easy to make my own background paper by stamping the images in random pattern onto very vanilla cardstock.  Job done!
