Paper piecing technique Christmas card …

Hello and welcome. There’s a technique challenge at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown this week – paper piecing. I used several Stampin’ Up Christmas dsp scraps to make this shaker card …

This was a great chance to ink up my Julie Nutting doll stamp that my friend bought for me.  I stamped the image several times onto different patterned papers to create the layers, then paper pieced them together.

I added the finished doll as an embellishment to the shaker element of the card, made using 2 sizes of Stampin’ Up Lots of Labels framelits.  Snowflake die cuts completed the look.

I raided my bead box and chose a variety of shapes and sizes for the shaker element, taking inspiration for the colours from the background paper. You can see the dimension a little better on this close up …

This is a great opportunity to use up your paper scraps, so why not come and join us at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown and share your lovely creations.

I’m linking my card to Paper Pixie’s snippets challenge weeks 317 to be a possible winner of her beautiful prize – wish me luck!  And, at Pixie’s suggestion, also linking to the Rudolph Day’s Challenge.

It’s great to hear from you, so please feel free to leave a message.

Thanks for dropping by today
