Six-fold Christmas card …

Hi and welcome to my blog. I hope you had a lovely time over the Christmas holiday. I’m a bit behind with my Design Team card for this week’s sketch challenge at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown – I’ve been busy having the most fabulous Christmas ever in the magical, winter wonderland of Iceland! Snow on Christmas Day, amazing scenery, the wonders of the Northern lights, as well as time spent with family – bliss. So, inspired by the snowy scenery, I have some mid-week inspiration for you with this six-fold card …

The centre panel was stamped using the cute snowman image from Penny Black’s Jolly Follies stamp set that I’ve had in my stash for years. I coloured him using my stampin’ write marker and blender pens.

It’s difficult to tell from the photo, but I added a little crystal effects to his eyes, buttons and hat, giving shine and texture.

I chose a variety of paper patterns from the Nordic Christmas paper pad to decorate the cherry cobbler textured base card …

A length of old olive satin ribbon, tied in a bow, made a pretty closure for the card, and the greeting, from That’s the Ticket stamp set by Stampin’ Up, was stamped in black stazon ink and punched out with the matching ticket duo punch, then adhered to the card with stampin’ dimensionals …

The card opens to reveal lots of different panels, ideal for adding family photos or messages, making it a pretty little keepsake …

I also added a whisper white panel to the centre of the card, giving space for a greeting…

I hope you like my card for this week. If you’d like to make one of your own, you can find a fabulous tutorial on Splitcoast Stampers.

The rest of the Design Team have created lots of lovely cards to inspire you, so do pop by for a peek. We have a brand new look to our website too and would love you to grab our badge to display on your own blog. I hope to see your creation at the 52 Christmas Card Throwdown challenge very soon.

So I wish you a very happy and peaceful New Year – see you again soon with tales of Iceland…
