Hi there! A quick post and super quick card today.
I was sorting through my photographs and realised I’d not yet shared this card with you. I made it for my teenage nephew’s birthday back in February. You know teenagers – they’d sooner have money than a gift, so I made this super quick and easy card that doubles as a gift holder …

The pocket is ideal for popping some birthday money, or a gift card, into.

cardstock: whisper white, marina mist;

Thanks for dropping by today

What a great idea, is the lapel cut and then scored? I would like to make one, would you mind if I CASE it?
Hi Peg. Of course you can case it – I’d be honoured! And nothing as fancy as scoring involved – just plain old paper piecing – quick and easy. Glad you like it. xxx
Great idea for a quick and easy man card, father’s day is coming too ;)! Thanks for sharing. C x
Thanks for your lovely comment Carole – I’m glad you like it. It was quick and easy to do xxx
what a super fun idea!! love it
Would like directions to make the masculine birthday card if you are willing and able to share them with me. Thank you.
Hi Marie. It’s really easy to do, uses paper piecing and can be made for any size card. Cut a piece of coloured card the same size as your base card. Cut off a piece on the diagonal on one of the top corners and flip over to form the lapel – I just eye-balled it and cut where I thought looked right. Cut a separate piece of card for the pocket and snip off 2 corners. Adhere both the pocket and lapel pieces in place to form the jacket (leave the top of the pocket open). I stamped the greeting across the pocket in white ink, and used a marker pen to make faut stitching around the pocket and lapel.
Thank you very much for sharing the directions for making the card. It makes sense to me now.😊
