Christmas pop-up card

Hello and welcome.

I’m really happy to be joining the lovely ladies for the 52 Christmas Card Throwdown challenge this week, where Rosi has challenged us to make a pop-up card.

I watched a fab tutorial by Sam on Youtube the other day and was inspired to make my own version…

I used papers from my Prima Christmas paper pad and some thick whisper white card from Stampin Up to make this fun design which has a hexagonal base.

I cut nested circles with dies by Claritystamp, and added a Christmas sled die cut by Sizzix as the focal point, cut from white, pink and silver card.  I did a little inking around the poinsettia to add shading. The sentiment is from Itty Bitty Christmas stamp set by Stampin Up.

This card folds flat and fits beautifully into a 6″ square envelope, and has a clever spring underneath so it pops up into shape as the recipient takes it out of the envelope.

This card was super easy to do and I loved how it turned out.

I hope you’ve been inspired to join in the challenge at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown – we’d love to see what you make.

Enjoy your weekend

Christmas pop-up card

Hello and welcome.

It’s the final challenge for October 2021 over at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown this week, where the task is to make a pop-up card.  This is the front of my card…

But inside is where the magic is …

I was recently inspired by a lovely lady I found on Youtube – Tanu Creative.  She made a pop-up photo album, but I thought it would work well as a card too, as a pile of Christmas presents.  I chose 3 designs of paper from the Christmas Village collection, and used elegant eggplant card by Stampin Up for the base of the boxes.  I attached a plain piece of paper to a white card base before adhering the stacked presents.

I went a bit crazy with the glittery snowflakes from the Tim Holtz snowflake die set.  I cut out every snowflake out to see what they were like and then used nearly all of them on this card!  Oh well, if you can’t go a bit crazy at Christmas, when can you?

I stamped the sentiments for the front and inside of the card from the Lots of Joy stamp set by Stampin Up.  The decorations for the presents were die cut from the Christmas Stocking die set by Sizzix, and stamped with the Itty Bitty Christmas set by Stampin Up.

The stitched circle die cuts on the front are in daffodil delight and whisper white, and the die cut fairy light is pool party card with a little silver card for the top, with yet more sparkly snowflakes.

It all folds fairly flat for posting, but I think I may just have to hand-deliver this one as it won’t be going too far from home!

I’m linking my card up to the HLS October anything goes with dies challenge.

I had lots of fun making this card.  It took me a while to figure out the placement of the boxes, but once I had that done, I just went nuts with the decorations!

I hope you’ve been inspired to join the challenge at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown – we’d love to see your work.

Enjoy your weekend
