Mama Elephant and Spellbinders winter countryside Christmas card

Hello and welcome. The theme challenge I set over at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown this week is winter countryside. I chose this as it offers so many opportunities to be interpreted in many different ways, and I can’t wait to see what the rest of the design team have come up with. Here’s my card …

I added splashes of white ink using a posca pen to a piece of night of navy card to look like falling snow. I stamped a few tiny snowflakes using white pigment ink, but they are a little difficult to see so I could have omitted this.

Next, I hand cut strips of white card from my scraps box using my paper snips to create three snowbanks. I stamped the sentiment to the bottom strip using my Misti for perfect placement. I adhered the first snowbank to the navy panel with liquid glue, and popped up the other snowbanks using foam tape. I die cut trees using the winter labels motifs set by Spellbinders and adhered one set to the top panel with liquid glue and the front set of trees were popped up on foam tape to add a little dimension.

I used black ink to stamp the little penguin from the Penguins Go Skating stamp set by Mama Elephant and die cut with the matching dies. Colour was added using my Stampin’ write marker pens in basic gray, smoky slate, real red, soft sky and daffodil delight. I attached him with liquid glue and foam tape.
