Hello and happy holidays!
As we continue with our December throwback challenges at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown, this week we’re revisiting a previous technique challenge. For my final card of 2025, I couldn’t think of a better way to end the year than with something a little bit special — a pop-up card, inspired by the February challenge.
My Final Card of 2025 – A Pop-Up Christmas Card
Pop-up cards always feel like such a wow project, don’t they? Even though the construction itself isn’t overly complicated, that moment when the card is opened and the design springs to life never fails to impress. It’s exactly why I knew this technique was the perfect choice to round off my crafting year.

Papers & Design
The DSP I chose made this card an absolute breeze to put together. The patterns were already beautifully co-ordinated, with just the right amount of contrast to give the card depth without overwhelming the design.
Even better, the pack included a sheet of cut-a-parts, which was ideal for the pop-up elements. Having pre-designed images ready to go meant I could focus on the fun part — building the pop-up structure and arranging the elements so they really shine when the card is opened. I stamped a sentiment by Stampin’ Up onto one of the cut-a-parts.

Why I Love This Technique
Pop-up cards are one of those techniques that look far more complicated than they actually are. They’re:
-
Perfect for making a card feel extra special
-
Guaranteed to delight the recipient
-
A brilliant way to use up patterned papers and cut-a-parts
- Fold flat for ease of posting

A Lovely Way to End the Year
There’s something quite fitting about finishing 2025 with a pop-up card. It feels celebratory, thoughtful, and just a little bit magical — everything I love about handmade cards.

Thank you so much for crafting along with us this year at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown. I’ve loved revisiting these challenges, and I can’t wait to see what creative adventures 2026 brings. Wishing you all a wonderful festive season and happy crafting!
