A tutorial …
I was asked to share how I made the roses for the get well card in yesterday’s post. I’m sure there are lots of different ways to make these roses, but this is how I do it:
1) Items you will need:
2) Punch out a circle of cardstock using the 1¾” circle punch from Stampin Up.
3) Sponge the edge with an ink colour of your choice. Here I used pink pirouette:
4) Cut the circle into a spiral – Stampin Up’s paper snips are brilliant for doing this:
5) Sponge the rest of the spiral, continuing along the same edge as earlier:
6) Use a paper piercer, or something similar, to wrap the card around, rolling it up quite tightly.
7) Release the coil of card – it should now hold its “rose” shape.
8) Add some strong glue, such as tombow mono multi-glue from Stampin Up, to the end of the spiral and press the rose down with the blunt end of the paper piercer for a few seconds until the glue holds.
9) The finished rose…

And another example on a card I posted a while ago here. This time I used very vanilla cardstock and sponged with real red ink:

Of course you can make these roses in any colour you wish, and you can add punched paper leaves if desired. They would also look lovely with basic pearls added to the centre, or even edged with dazzling diamonds! Your imagination is your only limit! Enjoy!
