We have a new hostess for the month of April over at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown, and, as always, the first week of the month is a sketch challenge. Here’s my take on it…

The sketch was just perfect for an easel card. I stamped two strips of whisper white card with snowflakes from the Festive Flurry stamp set by Stampin’ Up, then adhered one to the card topper and one across the inside of the card to match. The sentiment, popped up on dimensionals, made an ideal stopper for the easel card …

This verse, from the More Merry Messages set by Stampin Up, is one of my favourites and is definitely the star of the show here, framed with the tulip embossing folder …

I love this card! How did you reduce the embossing folder to achieve the interior panel? Beautiful!
Hi Jodie. A number of people have asked but it’s not easy to explain in words so I’ll put a picture tutorial together & post on my blog. It might take me a little while, so thanks for patience. Gill x
Another lovely card Gill thanks for sharing x

Great embossing and framing!! Love the blue and white for this card! The extra strip of stamped paper on the left fit very well! A very beautiful and elegant easel card!
I’m sorry to reply so late Gill, but the circumstances have not been very good lately and despite the delay, I want to say thank you for your nice comment and how much I enjoyed!

Definitely an elegant card. Love your rich choice of colors. Blends perfectly.
How did you make the larger embossed frame and the smaller one (same embossing folder)? Impressive!!
Hi Karen. Yes, I used the same embossing folder to make both frames. Glad you like it.
