Hello and welcome to my blog. For this week’s sketch challenge at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown I decided to go all eclectic, using up snippets of paper and dies I had cut for other projects but not used …

I keep my scraps and snippets in clear bags – handy for adding to my cards. I chose two complimentary patterns of dsp for the background, together with a fussy cut tag topper from the same paper pack …

The balsa wood die cut circle added texture, and I added an embossed die cut heart to the centre of the tag, and some punch art holly too …

And to finish off, the stamped greeting seemed to work well so I popped that up on dimensionals, and then added a glittery punched star for Christmas sparkle …

I hope you like my card for this week. The Design Team has created lots of lovely cards to inspire you, so do pop over to 52 Christmas Card Throwdown challenge blog to take a look.

Absolutely fabulous. I do like the design papers you’ve used and the balsa wood and tree focal point is gorgeous. Love it. xx
Thanks Deborah. I’m really pleased how it turned out, and as it was almost for free even better! xx
Very Nordic looking card, just love it x
Oh yes, now you’ve said it, it does look a little Nordic – a happy accident I can assure you! Glad you like it xx

I love this, Gill! Such a stylish card and a wonderful use of snippets! Xx
The glittery star provides an interesting contrast to the more homespun feel of the wood circle. Very cool card!
