The technique challenge over at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown this week is to colour an image. I chose my favourite cute penguin stamps to make my card. Come and craft with me …

These adorable penguins are by Mama Elephant and I just love their cute little faces! Stamped with black ink on white card and coloured with alcohol markers in 2 shades of red, black, 2 shades of grey, pink cheeks and a little orange for their beaks. They were die cut with the matching dies.

The background is soft sky card stamped with teeny snowflakes from the same stamp set with versamark ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder.

The scripty sentiment was stamped in black ink and heat embossed with clear embossing powder. I used my Misti for perfect placement. The straight sentiment was stamped with versamark ink on black card and heat embossed with white embossing powder. I added 2 more layers of black card to give it a little dimension.

The penguins were popped up on some foam tape. Finally, I added some white highlights using a white gel pen, coloured the blades of the skates with a silver metallic pen and added some shading below each penguin with the lightest shade of alcohol marker.
I hope you’ve been inspired to join the challenge this week – we’d love to see what you make.
Enjoy your weekend
