Washi tape card background

Hello and welcome to my craft space.

Tracy is the hostess for this month’s challenges at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown, and she has had some wonderful ideas to push us out of our comfort zone and express our creativity! For the last challenge of the month, Tracy has asked us to use something that most of us have in our stash but I wager very rarely use! I am of course talking about washi tape.  I love washi tape but seldom use it. I loved that Tracy challenged us to use this wonderful item from our craft room.

I placed down strips of washi tape diagonally across a piece of basic white card, alternating between silver and gold and different patterns.

Next, I embossed the panel using the Flurry of Snowlakes 3D embossing folder by Spellbinders.

I added some die cuts from the Spellbinders club kit from November 2021 – Joyful Christmas, popped up on foam tape, and stamped a sentiment in black ink on basic white card and cut a flag end.

I loved how this changed the look of the washi and I will definitely be trying this technique again.

I hope you’ve been inspired to join the challenge this week – we’d love to see what you make.

Have a lovely weekend

  1. Love the way the house is placed horizontally as if precariously balanced on the slope and could tip and slide to the bottom anytime…how much fun would they be.,..Weeeee ⛷️😀
