Spellbinders Flurry of Snowflakes 3D embossing folder

Hi and welcome to my craft space.

The challenge set by Fabiola this week over at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown is to use embossing on our cards.  This could be any type of embossing – dry or heat set.

One of my favourite embossing folders is the Flurry of Snowflakes 3D folder by Spellbinders, so of course I had to use this for my card.

I really wanted to showcase the beautiful snowflakes created by this folder.  I embossed a piece of crumb cake card by Stampin Up, then highlighted the snowflakes using a white pigment ink pad.

For the sentiment, I die cut the word Merry using the (retired) Expressions Thinlits dies by Stampin Up, from real red cardstock but decided to use the negative space instead of the die cut itself, which I’ll use on another card.

I stamped the word Christmas from the Mama Elephant Jolly and Merry stamp set and adhered this to the card.

Finally, I added a sprinkling of iridescent rhinestones by Stampin Up, for a little added sparkle.

I hope you’ve been inspired to join the challenge at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown – we’d love to see what you make.

Enjoyed your weekend – it’s a lovely long Bank Holiday weekend here in the UK (more time for crafting!)

  1. Your snowflake embossed background is so pretty in the crumb cake with the top inked with white – and I love the red strip for the sentiment! Julia xx
