Wedding wishes…

My friend asked me to make a wedding card for her friends, Kate and Brian.  Here’s what I did…

I used very vanilla and whisper white cardstock, and champagne shimmer paint on the centre of the hearts, to add sparkle and lustre – I love the effect the shimmer paint gives.

Number one dad…

When my mum was alive, she often made rosettes for my dad’s friends to wear to the football match, especially if Liverpool were playing a big game.  She would hand-stitch satin ribbon to circles of cardboard and add ribbon tails.

Her rosettes were absolutely brilliant, everybody wanted one, and she must’ve made hundreds over the years!

I took inspiration from my mum’s rosettes for the centre piece of this Father’s Day card ……

I used sticky strip to attach the ribbon instead of stitching, but I think the effect was very similar.

I mounted the rosette onto a “shield” made from the top note die that had been embossed with the square lattice folder.

I just  love this effect!
