My friend was organising a surprise birthday party for one of her friends and asked me to make a special birthday card. The brief was anything to do with wine and something classy. I don’t have any stamps that are specifically wine related, so I decided to make the card in wine colours with a vintage style … maybe a tenuous link but that’s all I had to work with!
A little bit of inking in crumb cake, applied with a sponge dauber, helped to give the card a distressed, vintage look …

For texture and a touch of luxury, I added some crochet trim, very vanilla seam binding ribbon and a vintage brad – which completed the look.

Here’s what you need to make today’s card – all supplies from Stampin’ Up!:
cardstock: cherry cobbler, very vanilla; stamps: everything eleanor; ink: basic grey, crumb cake; accessories: labels collection framelits, typeset alphabet dies, big shot, adhesive pearls, very vanilla seam binding ribbon, crochet trim, vintage brad, stampin’ dimensionals, glue dots.
Thanks for dropping by today

Very pretty Gill

Very pretty design…your friend’s friend will love it!
Beautiful Gill – this is a favourite colour combination of mine ! How do you get your seam binding ribbon to look so neat – mine always looks so tatty by the time I have wrestled it into a bow !!! LOL ! Have a great weekend my lovely ! Jane xx
Glad you liked it Jane – I was really happy the way it came together. And I’ll let you into a little secret … it’s a faux bow (but don’t tell anyone 😉 ) I looped the ribbon loosely around my fingers and then pinched it in the centre and fastened with the vintage brad, and voila! But that’s just between you and me, ok? 😀
Hope you have a great weeked too my sweet. Gill xx
What a pretty card. Good job.
