My offering for this week’s 52 Christmas Card Throwdown challenge turned out to be quite dimensional – not so easy to post, but not a problem for delivering by hand.
The challenge this week was to use dimensional paper flowers – come see what I made …
I was sat at my desk looking for inspiration when I spied my paper clay and moulds from Stampin’ Up! I’ve not used these for a little while, so it was good to have a play again. The paper clay is soft, stretchy, light and fluffy, and completely mouldable to any shape you wish (it really is fun stuff to use!)
The flowers are really easy to make using moulds from Stampin’ Up! There are 3 different sizes in the flower mould, I chose 2, the largest and the smallest ones.
I left the larger ones plain white to look like Christmas Roses, just adding a touch of daffodil delight to the centres, and then coloured the smaller flowers red with a real red marker pen. I added the flowers to the card surrounded with punched holly leaves and smaller leaves, punched out with the owl punch …
The background was one that my lovely friend, Joanne, had stamped onto whisper white card using the Joyful Christmas stamp set. It had started out as a box lid but Joanne was not quite happy with it and had started over again. I didn’t want to waste such a beautifully stamped project, so thank you Joanne … I put your beautiful work to good use!
I then mounted the stamped cardstock onto an A5 size base card in real red, and added a little paper piercing along the edges too.
