My daughter and son-in-law celebrated their first wedding anniversary in May. I can’t quite believe a whole year has gone by since we spent that wonderful time together on the beautiful island of Gozo, and their wedding day in Malta. We have so many happy memories of the day, when they said those loving wedding words to each other …
So, when it came to making their first anniversary card, I took inspiration from their wedding colours with a mixture of night of navy, pink pirouette, and soft sky, together with hints of sahara sand, and used the wedding words wheel by Stampin’ Up …
I used the ink resist technique to make the world map background – a nod to the super location of their wedding – and the wedding words band across the card, using night of navy and sahara sand inks …
All the Stampin’ Up wheel stamps are sadly retiring today – I sure will miss them – they are quick and easy for stamping larger projects, or multiple items, especially good when you need to make a lot of things, such as wedding stationery, party invitations, gift bags etc. I used the wedding words wheel on this wedding card which was featured in a Pinkies Blog Hop. I have been known to cut up my wheel stamps too, and get more bang-for-my-buck as they say – and have a free tutorial available showing you how. I, for one, will not be parting with my wheel stamps – I love them too much…
Some inking around the edges of the punched heart added definition, and a little bit of embossing to the bottom of the whisper white layer added texture …
I hope you like the card for today – I thought the sprinkling of hearts and rhinestones looked a little like confetti.
The happy couple spent their first anniversary in Hawaii – a delayed honeymoon. My daughter has kept all their tickets from their travels, and has asked if I will put together a scrapbook of their honeymoon photographs and memorabilia… I think I’m going to have fun making and creating something special for them.
