Hi and welcome to my blog. So, with only a few short weeks before Christmas, there are not many challenge weeks left for this year at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown, but don’t despair – you still have time to join in the fun and make your cards for your special someone. This week is a technique challenge to incorporate paper piercing in the design …
The background paper, from the Gilded Winter paper pad by Trimcraft, is so beautiful. Some pages are glittered, others, like this one, are clear embossed, adding a wonderful dimension and texture to the card. I decided I wanted as much of the beautiful paper visible as possible as it’s too nice to cover up …
The sentiment is the focal point of the card, so I made layers of different coloured cardstock which I then pierced using my Stampin’ Up paper piercing templates. The wonderful rich colour of elegant eggplant cardstock and ink from Stampin’ Up contrasted so well against the muted background paper.
A few additional embellishments of punched out silver snowflakes with pearl centres finished my card – I hope you like it.
Do please pop along and see what the rest of the Design Team have been making for you this week, and don’t forget our Design Team call, so if you think you have what it takes and would like to join our happy team, show us your makes and join in the fun at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown.
