Christmas card with real stitching

Hello and welcome. I hope you’re having a good day.

I’m delighted to be joining the lovely design team over at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown again this week, for a wonderful challenge to use real stitching on a card…

I started with this beautiful background paper by the Lovely Studio, adhered it to a piece of card and stitched around the edge in a straight line – well, as best I could – but it’s handmade, right?

Next, I stitched two rows of stitching around the edge of a base card, freehand, using the longest stitch possible on my sewing machine.

I popped up the centre panel, added a stamped sentiment, and a few sequins to finish.

I hope you’ve been inspired to join in the super challenge at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown. We would love to see your beautiful cards.

Enjoy your weekend
