Bold Snowflake Flurry by Sue Wilson, Creative Expressions

Hello and welcome to my craft space.

The second Saturday of the month is always a colour challenge over at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown. This week, Tracy has chosen the colours blue, red, black and white.

After auditioning several different shades of blue, I settled on using a piece of soft sky by Stampin Up and embossed it with the Crackle 3D texture fades embossing folder by Tim Holtz, which reminded me of cracked ice…

I have had the Bold Snowflake Flurry die set by Sue Wilson, Creative Expressions, for some time, but haven’t had the right opportunity to use it, until now.

I die cut the largest snowflake 3 times and adhered them together to give some stability to the die cut.  I stamped the sentiment in black ink in the centre of the top die cut and adhered it to the card using liquid glue.

Finally, I tied a bow in red and white gingham ribbon and adhered it to the snowflake using glue dots.

I hope you have been inspired to join the challenge this week – we’d love to see what you make.

Happy weekend

  1. Oh wow Gill! elle est superbe, presque parfaite, j’aime cet embossage sobre et élégant, juste les touches de couleurs qui mettent l’ensemble en valeur, biz

  2. A great card and I love the blue that you settled on to use. Mind you cracked ice is something that I wouldn’t want to see if I was out walking.
Thanks for using my colour combination in such a fabulous way.
