Do you know how versatile crumb cake is?

Hi and welcome to my blog. Don’t you just love it when you stumble upon a colour combination that you fall in love with?

These pretty designer series papers are from Stampin’ Up, in pretty colours of blushing bride and concord crush, and there are a few more colours in the pack. I teamed these with crumb cake ink and cardstock and just loved how they looked together …

I hope you like my cards for today – both are DL size. Mother’s day in the UK was earlier this year, but other parts of Europe and the US, are still to celebrate their special day for mums. If you changed up the sentiment, these cards would be great for lots of different occasions – birthday, get well, friendship, thank you, or just because. What will you make with yours?

Steam Punk style masculine card, featuring gold embossing …

Hi and welcome to my blog. I was inspired by the latest challenge at the Male Room Challenge blog to make this Steam Punk style masculine card …

Steam-Punk-featuring-gold-embossing

On our recent holiday in the Lakes, I found some great masculine style stamps and papers in a craft store in Kendal. Masculine cards can be difficult to do, but I couldn’t wait to get home and get creating with my new stash. I love the Steam Punk style – it’s interesting and I can add lots of embellishments to my heart’s content!

Although it’s hard to tell from the photos, I added clear embossing to the watch faces and the binoculars to give them a glassy look…

The gold embossed cogs were made by first heat embossing a piece of very vanilla cardstock with gold embossing powder, then die cutting several sizes of cogs to add as accents.

Lots of sponging, distressing and curling of edges on the card – I’m really happy with how it turned out.

I’m entering my card at The Male Room Challenge #7
