My neighbour’s little boy had his 4th birthday a few weeks ago, so I made this fun dinosaur punch art card for him. I used two of the new in-colours from Stampin’ Up – baked brown sugar and pistachio pudding – the colours sound so delicious …

Different sizes of oval framelits were used to cut shapes from pistachio pudding cardstock. I sponged the edges in matching ink and then used the dauber to sponge circles onto his back, before popping him up on dimensionals onto the baked brown sugar base card …

The birthday greeting was stamped from the label love stamp set, punched out with the co-ordinating artisan punch, and popped onto the paper rosette, made from some colourful quatrefancy designer series paper. Apparently, the birthday boy loved it!
I had loads of fun making Joel a dinosaur cake too …
… the rocks and boulders were delicious – the icing was caramel flavoured – yum.

My husband said I’d made the dinosaur look a little too cute – it was obviously not scary enough for the boys – and it was his idea to add teeth and claws … I still think he looked cute though (the dinosaur, not my husband).
I had a little help with the cake – my daughter helped with the red plates for the back, and I had artistic direction from my husband (teeth and claws) – he made the dinosaur eggs too … even painted the spots himself (I new I’d make a crafter out of him one day!)
