Wood texture Christmas card with pretty pines …

Hello and welcome to my blog. For the new challenge at Christmas Card Throwdown, we want you to use wood or canvas on your project.  I used wood texture dsp, a balsa wood top note die cut, teamed with die cuts made with the pretty pines thinlits by Stampin’ Up! to make my card…

I stamped the sentiment in early espresso ink which toned beautifully with the dsp…

The pines were diecut from scraps of green cardstock, and I added shading with my stampin’ write marker pens.

I cut some of the die cuts in whisper white glimmer paper and added red stickles for the berries.

I hope you like my card for this week.  The ladies on the Design Team have created lots of inspiration for you, so why not hop on over to Christmas Card Throwdown

I love receiving your messages, so if you have any questions, or you just want to say hi, do please leave me a comment.

Embossed impressions 3 ways …

Hi. This week I have another embossed impressions card to share with you for the current challenge at the Christmas Card Throwdown Challenge blog.

I used 3 different techniques to emboss my card …

I added versamark ink to the raised side of the softy falling embossing folder, then ran it through my bigshot with a piece of brushed gold cardstock.  I applied white embossing powder and heat set it with my heat gun.  I liked the effect I got as the stray speckles of embossing powder added to the snowy effect.

I stamped the baubles from the Carols of Christmas stamp set in versamark ink then heat embossed with gold embossing powder. I die cut this using the stitched shape framelits.  I used the next size up framelit to make an embossed impression using a rubber embossing mat – I love the extra dimension it gave to my card…

The sentiment is from the Christmas Pines stamp set and the pretty pines thinlits were used to make the embellishments using brushed gold and silver glimmer paper.

I hope you like my card for this week.  As ever, the Design Team have beautiful cards for your inspiration, I do hope you’ll join us.
