Under the Big Top …

It’s the first day of the new Stampin Up year today and the new catalogue has been released – yay!  There are so many new and exciting products available – I’m in love!

One of the fantastic new stamp sets is Under the Big top on page 31 of the catalogue.  When my friend, Sarah, asked me to make a card for George’s first birthday, I just had to ink up this new favourite…

As my inspiration, I cased one of the make and takes we did at the Stampin Up regional training recently, and then used it as the focal point of my card.  Tempting turquoise, whisper white and daffodil delight were used for the main colours, with a splash or two of real red here and there.  All supplies from Stampin’ Up!

Owls, farewells and party this way …

My friend and colleague has taken a year out to do some volunteer work in the Sudan. It’s something she’s always wanted to do, and she is so brave to follow her dream.

We are happy for her but will miss her while she’s gone, so I used my owl punch and party this way stamp set from Stampin Up to make a good luck card for her send off…

I gave each owl different coloured eyes – the brown eyes (chocolate chip) look huge! – and gave each owl different wings, positioning the wings to make it look like were waving goodbye. I think she liked it!

I love the party this way stamp set, it is so versatile, and I have used it so much on a variety of cards. All I need now is a punch to punch out those bunting flags that I have to cut out by hand at the moment!

I used bashful blue for the sky and some designer series paper to represent the grassed area. I then had loads of fun mixing up bright colours – tempting turquoise, melon mambo, pumpkin pie and green galore (retired) – to make the card really cheerful.
