Come and take a peek at the creation I made using one of our prompts for the month…
There are four prompts to choose from, all equally great, but I had to choose one, so decided on a square, vintage card, using two buttons.
I made layers with designer series paper and cherry cobbler cardstock, which I had stamped in versamark ink with the bella toile background stamp and then heat embossed in clear embossing powder. The sentiment, from More Merry Messages, was stamped onto very vanilla cardstock in the centre of the frame image from Papaya Collage, which I centred with the help of my stamp-a-majig…
My lovely friend, Min, has an amazing button box, filled with a myriad of buttons in all shapes, sizes and colours – just like my mum had when I was little. Min kindly let me look through them and, after a few happy minutes searching through the pretties, I found these two matching, vintage buttons, one a smaller version of the other, which were just perfect for my card …
I used my Stampin’ Up craft scissors to snip off the button loops from the back so they would lie flat on the card. It means they can’t be used as buttons any longer, but I kinda like their new purpose as adornments for my card …
I added some silk ivy leaves, which have been in my craft stash for ever! I bought them in a post-Christmas sale in George Henry Lees in Liverpool many years ago … that shop doesn’t even exist now, it’s a branch of John Lewis! The leaves are so pretty, edged in silver glitter – I knew if I kept them long enough I’d find a use for them! I tucked them behind some seam binding ribbon tied in a double bow, and added some swirls of silver glimmer paper – I hope you like my finished card.
