Hi and welcome to my blog. It’s bonus week at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown, and we are asking you to pick a previous sketch to follow. There are lots of past sketches to choose from – you can check them out in the archives section at 52CCT. I opted for sketch #27 from April 2014 …
Once I’d decided on the sketch to use, I sat at my desk and spotted some die cuts and dsp left over from previous projects. I wondered if I could utilise them so played around with different combos until I came up with this …
I find following a sketch really helps focus my mind so the card came together quite quickly, especially as the die cuts were already made.
I just love the colour combo of soft sky and crumb cake, from the subtles and neutrals ranges by Stampin Up, and I really like the modern look of the sentiment, from the now retired jolly jingles wheel stamp, which I’d cut up into separate sentiments.
The little sparkly snowflake was made using a snowflake punch gifted to me by my lovely friend, Debs – look how sweetly it nestled into the centre of the larger diecut. And you can never have enough bling, so I added a large adhesive rhinestones to the centre – very pretty in real life …
I hope you like my card for this week. The rest of the Design Team have created lots of lovely cards to inspire you too, so do pop over to 52 Christmas Card Throwdown to take a look. We hope you’ll join us too.
