Christmas card in pink, red and lime green

Hello and welcome.

Elizabeth has set a fab colour challenge over at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown this week – to use pink, red and lime green – what a lovely combination!

I’m still on a mission to use up my paper scraps, and as I still had scraps from the paper pad I used last week, I thought they were perfect for the background of my card with this gorgeous pink gingham design, and also for the tag shaped topper in a two-toned lime green colour …

Sandy, on her YouTube channel #Septeria 18, has some really clever ideas for using up paper scraps. I was inspired to make a Christmas version and use it as the focal piece for my card, which can be detached and used as a tree decoration, making it a card and a present in one.

I chose muted colours, using a kraft colour for the base and two different pretty patterns from the Prima Christmas paper pad for the centre circles, making sure that the Santa, dressed in pink, took centre stage.  The sentiment was fussy cut from the same paper pad, and a gold glitter star adhered for sparkle.

Put together using foam tape for dimension, jump rings and a lobster clasp were used to add a red tassle and attach it to the tag topper with a red tuille ribbon bow.

I love how this card turned out – it was fun to make, used up some of my paper scraps and I can’t wait to gift it at Christmas.

I hope you’ve been inspired to join in this fab challenge this week – we’d love to see what you create.

Enjoy your weekend.
