Scandinavian Christmas card using stamps by Sizzix, Mama Elephant and Stampin Up

Hello and welcome.

It’s been such a long time, so I am very pleased to be playing along with the lovely ladies at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown for this week’s theme challenge – Scandinavian or Hygge style.

I raided my stamp collection to help me create my card …

I stamped the images in real red ink by Stampin Up on a whisper white smooth card panel, then adhered this to an A6 size card base (4.1 x 5.8 inch). Stamp sets used – the deer – Folk Christmas by Sizzix, top banner and toadstool – Foxy Friends, the heart and tree – Holiday Home, bottom banners and holly – Christmas Pines, sentiment – Itty Bitty Christmas, all by Stampin Up (retired), snowflakes – Penguins Go Skating by Mama Elephant.

My Misti stamp positioner really helped to stamp the images in the right place.  My ink pad is particularly juicy so I did overstamp a little here and there, but then it is a handmade card afterall…

I haven’t done this much stamping for a long time and I loved every minute of it. It was fun looking through my stamp collection to find different images that worked well together and helped me create a Scandinavian look to my card.  I coloured some of the open sections of the images in using a real red ink marker, and masked off areas at the bottom of the card which I blended with the real red ink.

I hope you like my card for this week and that you’ve been inspired to join in this really fun challenge.

I hope the sun is shining where you are. Enjoy your weekend.
