Hi and welcome to my blog. It’s my last week as hostess at 52 {Christmas} Card Throwdown this week. I’ve really enjoyed setting new challenges, and have loved seeing the wonderful creations shared. The challenge this week is to use a previous sketch. Looking back at the list, I found I’d missed the May challenge, so it was an obvious choice for me.
I used the Embellished Events stamp set from Stampin’ Up! to make this A6 size card …
I really don’t know why I choose to make white cards – they are a nightmare to photograph! I guess ‘cos they are so pretty in real life that I just can’t resist (*note to self: must try harder with my photography!)
I struggled a bit with this sketch, and couldn’t quite get it to work at first, no matter what I did. I played around with the placement, and the embellishments – I don’t know whether it was the shapes I’d chosen or because of the colours, but it just didn’t look right to me. But once I added a few more elements, such as the rick rack ribbon and adhesive rhinestones, I was much happier with how the card looked.
The silver ink I used for the bells is so pretty in real life …
I hope you like my card for this week. I went from hating everything about it, to really loving the look of it … funny how that happens sometimes …
Now it’s time to see what the rest of the Design Team have been making for you.
cardstock: whisper white, brushed silver, silver glimmer;
stamp set: embellished events;
inks: silver, basic grey;
punches & dies: circles dies, small star;

additional: silver rick rack and silver ribbon from my stash.
