Stampin Up merry tags framelits handmade Christmas card

Hello and welcome.

The colour challenge at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown this week is to use red, green and brown. I decided to also challenge myself to use up some of my scraps and spare die cuts, and see what I could come up with. I auditioned various items until I was happy with the look …

On a base of real red card, I added layers of dsp which had red, green and brown in two shades – crumb cake and early espresso, crumb cake card and a piece of bronze glitter card which matched the pale brown crumb cake card beautifully.

The die cuts were also in my scraps box and were perfect as focal points for my card. I popped them up on foam tape to add dimension.

Finally, I stamped the sentiment in early espresso brown ink onto a scrap of white card and cut into a banner shape before adding to the card.

I’m really pleased with how the card turned out, and pleased to have made use of those scraps I’ve been holding onto!

I hope you’ve been inspired to join in the challenge – we’d love to see what you create.

Enjoy your weekend.

Merriest wishes triptych Christmas …

Hello and welcome to my blog. It’s November, so that means it’s just a few short weeks to Christmas, and I have the pleasure of hosting this month’s challenges over at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown.  This week, there is a sketch for you to follow – I chose a classic triptych layout and can’t wait to see what you come up with …

Merriest wishes triptych

For my card, I teamed my new stamps and dies from Stampin’ Up with some Christmas dsp I got from the clearance rack (lucky girl!)  The lush dsp made an excellent background for the dies, cut from whisper white shimmer, real red and certainly celery cardstock.  I like the way the colours tone with each other.

I hope you like my card for this week.  The Design Team has created lots of inspiration for you, so do take a look at the 52 Christmas Card Throwdown challenge.

I love receiving your messages, so if you have any questions, or you just want to say hi, do please leave me a comment.

Thanks for dropping by today
