Happy heart boxes …

What a great day I had yesterday attending the Stampin’ Up! leadership training day at Reading.  I met some lovely people and amazingly talented crafters.  The beautiful displays and craft samples were fabulous, with lots of ideas and inspiration.

We were all so excited to be able to see some amazing new products which will be available in the new catalogue to be launched in just a few weeks’ time, and some fab craft demonstrations too.

When demos get together we love to make projects to swap with each other to share ideas.   Here are my swaps that I made for the other members of our Pink Ladies team – a little difficult to see from the photo but I used the gorgeous brand new illuminate watermark ink pad from the autumn/winter catalogue on whisper white cardstock – lush!  These would make great wedding or Christmas party favours …

They are what I call “happy heart kits”.

Each one contains a number of little bits and bobs with a list of their meanings:

                • an eraser – to make your troubles disappear
                • a coin – so you’ll never be penniless
                • a marble – in case you lose yours
                • a string – to keep yourself together
                • an elastic band – to stretch yourself beyond your limits
                • a balloon – so you can reach for the sky
                • a sweet – just because you are

All supplies from Stampin’ Up!

Music, sweet, sweet music…

My friend’s brother recently celebrated his 30th birthday. He loves music and his favourite groups are the Rolling Stones and U2. There was a fab website, http://www.says-it.com/record/45.php , where you can personalise and print out a vinyl record jpeg image but it doesn’t seem to be active any more.  It’s a shame as this was just perfect for what I needed for his card. I printed it onto some whisper white cardstock from Stampin’ Up, stamped images from the party this way and schoolbook serif stamp sets, cut them out and mounted them as toppers for the card.

I think the monochrome colour scheme worked well and gives it a masculine look. I hope he liked it!

Stampin’ Up supplies used:

Cardstock: whisper white, black; Inks: basic grey; Stamp sets: party this way, schoolbook serif numbers, music notes wheel; Punches: modern label, word window; Accessories: stampin’ dimensionals.
