Glittery Christmas pines, boughs & berries …

Hello and welcome to my blog.

Can you believe that it will be December next week?! Wow! I’m so glad that I’ve built a handy stash of Christmas cards with the 52 Christmas Card Throwdown Challenge. I was always leaving things to last minute and ending up having to buy my cards, and felt guilty to boot!  But joining the fabulous ladies at the 52 Christmas Card Challenge means I have my cards all ready and waiting to go.

Over on the blog today, for my last challenge this month, I have a stash challenge for you – I want you to get out your glitter!  Any type of glitter will do – from glitter paper, to stickles, to that stuff you sprinkle that gets all over your hands and face – wear your glitter with pride!

I edged an oval die cut with silver glass glitter…

Dabs of glitter glue were added to parts of the very vanilla embossed boughs & berries background.  It didn’t quite sparkle enough for me, so I added dazzling diamonds too – much better!

The bow is white glitter ribbon and I added more dazzling diamonds to the pretty pines die cuts, giving a pretty, frosted look.

An old fashioned Christmas with pretty pines…

Hello and welcome to my blog.

My goodness, how quickly November is racing by – December is almost here! Today I have an old-fashioned Christmas theme challenge for you over at the 52 Christmas Card Throwdown Challenge blog.  I used my stash of papers, teamed with die cuts made with the pretty pines thinlits by Stampin’ Up! …

For me, some of my happiest memories of Christmas were during my childhood growing up in the 1960s. These patterned papers remind me of cards and decorations belonging to my mum from that era.  I added some die cuts made with the Pretty Pines thinlits by Stampin’ Up, and some pom pom trim…

It’s one of the first pack of papers I bought when I first started card making, so I’ve had it for the longest time, just waiting for this challenge to come along, it appears. I love the pretty designs and colours, and the sparkly glitter…

This time of year is always busy with family birthdays and preparations for the Christmas holidays, shopping to do and, of course, the Christmas parties to attend.  It’s one big, mad rush, but a nice rush, an exciting rush, full of hope and anticipation.  A hope that plans will run smoothly, that I haven’t forgotten anything, and, of course, that the family will be happy and have a good time.

I hope you like my card for this week. The Design Team has created lots of lovely cards to inspire you, so do pop over to 52 Christmas Card Throwdown challenge blog to take a look.
