I’m so happy! My daughter was home at the weekend, for Mothers’ Day and a family birthday. We went girlie shopping on Saturday and she helped me pick out some gorgeous summery clothes in a variety of red, white and blue, so they had a very nautical look. I even let her talk me into buying a large, red silk flower brooch to go with the navy blue and white stripe jacket I bought ….very Sarah Jessica Parker in Sex and the City! Still, the weather has been lovely here over the last few days, the sun’s been shining and it certainly feels like spring has sprung.
Keeping with the nautical theme, I used the new sail away stamp from Stampin Up, available in the mini catalogue, to make a card for our friend, Mick. I was inspired by a card I’d seen on the very talented Sara’s blog. Mick’s passion is for surfing, but he enjoys any type of water sports. Here’s my version of the card…
I stamped on the inside of the card too, and made a matching envelope…
Stampin Up supplies used:
Cardstock: whisper white, real red, night of navy, sahara sand; Inks: real red, night of navy; Stamp sets: sail away, occasional greetings, party this way, just perfect alphabet, circle circus, cheer and wishes; Accessories: crimper, stampin dimensionals, antique brass jumbo eyelet, linen thread, sticky strip, wooden lollipop stick from my kitchen.
