From this day forward …

There’s a fab challenge over on the Less is More challenge blog today – a one layer card with the 12 days of Christmas as the subject.

This really had me scratching my head at first – I didn’t think I had anything in my stash that would work.  Until I remembered the from this day forward stamp set from Stampin’ Up, which has two beautiful birds in the main image.  I thought these could be two turtle doves, so I made this one layer Christmas card using non-traditional colours…

Two turtle doves 2nd day of Christmas

I inked up the stamp with my stampin’ write marker pens, and added dazzling diamonds glitter with a two way glue pen for some sparkle.

I stamped a row of musical notes in tempting turquoise across the bottom of the card.

And speaking of the 12 days of Christmas, I discovered this video on youtube this week – the dancers are so talented and their routine is just brilliant!  So, turn on your speakers, sit back, relax and enjoy four minutes of pure genius …

Here’s what I used to make today’s card – all supplies from Stampin’ Up!:

cardstock: whisper white; stamp sets: from this day forward, more merry messages, music notes wheel; inks: tempting turquoise, markers in pink pirouette, melon mambo, soft sky, tempting turquoise, certainly celery (retired), lucky limeade (retired); accessories: dazzling diamonds, two way glue pen.

I love receiving your messages, so if you have any questions, or you just want to say hi, do please leave me a comment.

Thanks for dropping by today

    1. Hi Julia. I’m glad you like the colours – I love making non-traditional cards now and again. And the video is fab isn’t it? They worked so hard, bless them! Gill x

    1. Hi Faith. Glad you like my card – it’s good to think outside the box sometimes 😀 And glad you like the video – it’s solid gold and I couldn’t resist sharing! Gill x

  1. This looks great Gill, I love the colour combo, but I couldn’t help but notice that the music is upside down! It is quite tricky to see sort it out!
    Thanks so much
