A new challenge for a Merry Monday …

Hi and welcome to my blog.

I was so excited recently to learn that my one layer card won top spot at the Merry Monday Silent Night challenge.  Their lovely team invited me to be guest designer for their latest challenge...

132

Inspired by their card recipe of snowflakes, neutral colours and dry embossing

this is what I came up with …

 Merry-Monday-embossed-snowflakes

I embossed snowflakes on a piece of vellum cardstock by hand using a stencil and a ball tool.  It took a while, but I was really pleased with the results. It meant I was able to add extra pressure here and there to make the vellum whiter in some areas, which looks so pretty in real life…

To attach the vellum, I punched holes through both the vellum and a piece of crumbcake cardstock and then threaded a length of whisper white organza ribbon tied in a knot.  The layers were then attached to a neutrals white card base using dimensionals.

I punched a piece of linen white cardstock using the scallop top label punch from Stampin’ Up, and stamped the greeting and snowflakes from the Endless Wishes stamp set…

I added a touch of sparkle to some of the snowflakes with a gold wink of stella pen, and finished off with some adhesive pearls here and there…

The greetings label was attached with linen thread tied to the ribbon, so added movement to the card, which I just love.

So, I hope you like my card.  Do please visit the Merry Monday challenge to see what the rest of the team have been up to – I feel honoured to have been invited to join these very talented crafters as Guest Designer, so I’m sending a big thank you to the team.
