Lovely as a tree with a triple time stamping technique…

Hi and welcome to my blog. It’s Louise’s last week to host over at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown, and this time she has a triple time stamping technique for us.

I took inspiration from a diorama card I made some time back, and inked up my card using my brayer, before stamping across all layers with the fir tree image from the Lovely as a Tree stamp set by Stampin’ Up…

I then stamped over the top with whisper white craft and illuminate inks using the gorgeous grunge stamp set, to give the illusion of snow. I inked the shaped base card to match.

The card was embellished with a hand-tied bow and glittered snowflake die.

stamps: lovely as a tree, petite pairs, gorgeous grunge;

inks: soft sky, night of navy;

cardstock: whisper white, night of navy;

punches and dies: word window, modern label, 1 1/4″ circle (for the moon mask), Martha Stewart snowflake punch;

accessories:  whisper white organza ribbon, dazzling diamonds, glue dots, stampin’ dimensionals, shaped card from my stash;

All supplies from Stampin’ Up unless otherwise stated.

    Hi Gill, Wonderful card!!! Would you be willing to share the dimensions of the card and layers?? Is the card made with the Top Note die??? I also assume that you used Night of Navy cardstock?? I feel a Christmas card making session coming on, 🙂 Thanks for sharing, Joanie

      Hi Joanie. Thank you for your comments. The whisper white layers are 4 5/8″ x 4 5/8″, 3 1/2″ x 3 1/2″ and 2 1/4″ x 2 1/4″. The night of navy layers are 1/8″ bigger, giving a 1/16″ border all round. I buy my base cards pre-shaped from a little local craft shop. The cardstock is a heavier weight than Stampin’ Up’s whisper white, and stands up a lot better. Hope that helps. Gill xx

    Gill, your card is simply exquisite! You’ve created a gorgeous nighttime snowy scene here. I wouldn’t have thought to use the triple time technique for a scene. Your amazing card shows why you’re such an asset to our 52CCT team! 🙂

    Love your cards. I am new to this and would like to know how you get the dazzling diamonds to stick. Also, I loved the card you made for your daughter on her wedding and wondered how you got the glitter and embossing powder on that card. Any help is appreciated, your cards are just gorgeous!

      Thank you for your lovely comments Patricia. In answer to your questions, I used Stampin Up’s heat and stick powder. You might be able to find a tutorial on you tube, so might be worth a look.
