Metallic Christmas card

Happy New Year!  It’s still January, so I guess it’s still OK for me to wish you that dear reader.

I always struggle to get a good photo when I use metallic papers, but they look so beautiful in real life – I just love the result.

I chose two designs of Winter Wonderland speciality dsp by Stampin Up – the black and gold metallic striped background paper is really lush.  I’ve been holding on to this paper for a while, stroking it occasionally but frightened to cut into it, but I think it was worth it for this card…

The reindeer topper was cut from silver metallic cardstock using the Tim Holtz Alterations Winter Wonderland thinlits die set. The trouble with metallic cardstock is it marks really easily, and it was difficult not to get marks on it from the die itself. I decided to use it anyway, thus proving my card is handmade!

I popped up the sentiment strip and reindeer just to give the card a little bit of dimension. A simple design but I’m so pleased with how it turned out.

I hope you will join the ladies over at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown and share your beautiful designs with us.

Enjoy your Saturday and have a lovely weekend.
