Delightful decorations colour challenge …

Hi and welcome to my blog. The Christmas lights may be down and the decorations tidied away for another year, but we would love you to join in our current challenge at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown as it’s never too early to start making your holiday cards!

This week is a colour challenge.  As soon as I saw these colours together I thought of a card we made at a Stampin’ Up event a few years ago.  I decided to case it, changing up the colours to fit the challenge and use different stamp sets, so chose Delightful Decorations and Four the Holidays (both retired)

I have no idea whose original idea the card was but I still really like it, even after all this time. One thing I did realise is I need to buy a new cherry cobbler ink pad as mine has gone terribly dry.  Still, I kinda liked the faded stamped image as it seemed to add to the overall distressed look. What I wasn’t so happy about was the stamped sentiment – I used whisper white ink first, but that ink pad too is very dry, so I had to over-stamp in versamark and heat emboss with white embossing power so I could see the sentiment. I was hoping it would still look OK, but to me it just looks blurred.  I decided to leave it as it was and to learn my lesson – test stamp on scrap paper first before committing to my card, or don’t leave my sentiment until last!

I hope you’ve been inspired to come join in and share your lovely cards with us.  The Design Team girls have created lots of lovely cards to inspire you, so do drop by to 52 Christmas Card Throwdown and join the fun.

It’s great to hear from you, so feel free to leave a message.

ILWS new catalogue blog hop …

Hello and welcome to the In Love With Stamping (ILWS) blog hop.

Today sees the launch of the brand new Stampin’ Up!® annual catalogue and, together with the recently launched autumn/winter catalogue, we now have more choice than ever before of the beautiful Stampin’ Up!® products.

To celebrate, a group of us on In Love With Stamping got together for a blog hop to showcase lots of fabulous items from both catalogues, which are now available to order.  You should have arrived here from Beckie’s page – if not, do make sure you take a look at her beautiful projects.

For today’s hop, I chose to make Christmas projects using something old and something new …

I used one of the gorgeous stamps from the ornament keepsakes set with the matching die,

these are available to purchase separately from the autumn/winter catalogue,

or you can purchase them together as a bundle and make a great saving …

I added a strip of the gorgeous festival of prints dsp in a matching colour,

a tiny bow of cherry cobbler scalloped tulle ribbon and some adhesive pearls.

~~~
For my second card, I used the delightful decorations set with the matching ornament punch,
this time stamping a strip of very vanilla with one of the smaller stamps from the set …
more tiny tulle bows and adhesive pearls completed the look.
~~~

 And finally, for my last project, I used a different stamp from the same set,

stamped 5 images in cherry cobbler and punched them out with the ornament punch,

scored and folded them to make this cute decoration for my Christmas tree…

And here are all three projects together …

The sentiment is from another one of my favourite sets – beautiful season,

and was stamped in early espresso ink.

Here’s what you need to make today’s projects – all supplies from Stampin’ Up! –

cardstock: naturals ivory, very vanilla; stamp sets:  ornament keepsakes, delightful decorations, beautiful season; ink: cherry cobbler, early espresso; accessories:  festival of prints dsp, corner rounder and ornament punches, holiday ornaments framelits dies, big shot machine, cherry cobbler scalloped tulle ribbon, linen thread, tombow multi glue, mini glue dots, stampin’ dimensionals, adhesive pearls.

I’d be delighted to order any of these items for you and have them delivered to your door at any UK address. To place your order, you can email me at lilybygilly@gmail.com or call me on 0772 980 8152 and I’d be happy to help.

Now it’s time to hop to Diane’s blog to see what she’s been making.
