Hello and welcome. I’ve really enjoyed setting the challenges for November this year over at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown, and for my final technique challenge, I chose shaped cards.
As well as making my card a different shape than the usual square or rectangle, I made mine into a rocker card…
I used my largest circle die to cut a 5 3/4″ circle in pool party and added a half-circle in white, embossed with the 3D snowflakes embossing folder. I used the Sizzix penguin bigz die for the topper, and added Christmas lights to the antlers headdress using the More Holiday Decorations die set by Spellbinders.
The sentiment is by Stampin Up. I’ve had it in my stamp library for a long time and it seemed to fit perfectly here. It helped to balance the card and offset the weight of the flipper I’d adhered in the air to make it look like the penguin is waving when you rock the card.
I had a lot of fun designing and making this cute little rocker card. It fits nicely into a 6″ square envelope.
