Under the Big Top circus fun …

Some friends came round the other evening for some crafting fun. We used the Under the Big Top stamp set and matching Big Top Birthday designer series paper from Stampin’ Up! to make colourful children’s cards. I fell in love with this make and take project I got at a Stampin’ Up! regional training event a little while ago. It has 4 gift cards and envelopes, and the carriage is a little box to keep them in …

We also made a penny slider card – inspired by a card by Laura Southam, one of our team of Pink Ladies, displayed on her inspiration station at Michelle’s craft day earlier this year. We used tempting turquoise, daffodil delight and real red cardstock to co-ordinate with the colours in the dsp. The clown looks like he’s tumbling across the card – wheeee!

The font of the sentiment from the happiest birthday wishes hostess stamp set was just perfect!

Then my friend asked me to make a card for his little girl’s 2nd birthday, so I used the same design to make another card but this time made it a bit bigger so I could also add her name and age …

It doesn’t seem that long ago since I made her first birthday card.

Kids grow up so quickly, huh?!

Under the Big Top …

It’s the first day of the new Stampin Up year today and the new catalogue has been released – yay!  There are so many new and exciting products available – I’m in love!

One of the fantastic new stamp sets is Under the Big top on page 31 of the catalogue.  When my friend, Sarah, asked me to make a card for George’s first birthday, I just had to ink up this new favourite…

As my inspiration, I cased one of the make and takes we did at the Stampin Up regional training recently, and then used it as the focal point of my card.  Tempting turquoise, whisper white and daffodil delight were used for the main colours, with a splash or two of real red here and there.  All supplies from Stampin’ Up!
