It’s time for another 52 Christmas Card Throwdown challenge! And this week the theme is stars …

When I saw this week’s challenge, for me, the choice was pretty easy – stars need to sparkle after all. So I punched out a bunch from white glimmer paper using the small star punch from Stampin’ Up, and then arranged them in a random pattern around my stamped sentiment from More Merry Messages…

I added a sprinkling of adhesive rhinestones too…

A strip of cherry cobbler cardstock added some contrast, and the whisper white organza ribbon, tied around the card, added some softness and texture …

Now it’s your turn – we’d love to see your creations, so why not join us over at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown?

cardstock: whisper white, soft sky, cherry cobbler, white glimmer paper;
stamp sets: more merry messages;
inks: basic grey;
punches: small star;
accessories: whisper white organza ribbon, adhesive rhinestones.
All supplies from Stampin’ Up – contact me for details.
I love receiving your messages, so if you have any questions, or you just want to say hi, do please leave me a comment.

Another stunning card Gill xxx
Thank you Peg – I’m so glad you liked! And it’s high praise indeed coming from you as your cards are amazing. Gill x
Wow! This is absolutely stunning! Sparkly stars, beautiful colours and the bow is fab (I can’t do bows!).
Thank you Deborah., I love the glimmer paper – I had to refrain from punching more and more stars! LOL! I’ve had a lot of practise with bows, and I mean a lot! My dear mum, bless her heart, knitted a beautiful Christening robe for my daughter many years ago, and I got the job of tying over 100 teeny tiny bows that were then sewn to the robe! It was gorgeous when it was finished and well worth the effort, Have a great weekend. xx
I love this card, so simple and elegant. I will CASE it for my classes in Christmas in July.
i like your ideas

What a stunning card Gill, I just adore that bold pop of Cherry Cobbler against the Soft Sky! I’m a lover of the Glimmer Paper myself and the starry sparkle is further enhanced by the rhinestones! A perfect bow too – a beautiful card! Ruth x
