Masculine birthday, by the tide and a triple stamping technique …

Hi, and welcome to my blog.

No Christmas card again this week – have you missed seeing them?  The 52 {Christmas} Card Throwdown blog hop is still in full swing, and will be for the whole of July, with lots of prizes up for grabs. There is still plenty of time to play along, so why not have a Christmas in July party and join in the fun?! And if you missed my Design Team inspiration card, do pop by for a look.

I’ll be back with more Christmas creations for you in August, when I’ll have the great honour of being hostess for the month, setting you new challenges each week to prompt your creativity, so I hope you’ll pop by and join me again then.

In the meantime, I have a masculine card to share with you today.  I used a triple stamping technique and the By the Tide stamp set from Stampin’ Up to create a masculine birthday card …

I initially reached for red, white and blue – colours that remind me of summer time and the seaside – but, for a slightly different look, I used very vanilla and cherry cobbler (even the colours sound delicious!)

If you’d like to give the triple stamping technique a try, you’ll find a great tutorial on the Splitcoast stampers website.

I’ve received a lot of messages recently asking what sizes I use for my cards, as you’ve had a few issues when casing them.  Just like a lot of my cards, this particular one is an A5 size – a very popular size of greetings card in the UK –  and requires a whole sheet of cardstock, scored and folded in half. I measured “by eye” for the mats and layers – I just cut it until it looked pleasing to me, so I don’t have the specific sizes, sorry. Follow your instincts and give it a go – you will love it…
