Embossed impressions with pretty pines thinlits…

Hello and welcome to my blog.

The new technique challenge at the Christmas Card Throwdown Challenge blog is to use embossing.

I embossed whisper white cardstock using the softly falling embossing folder, and then mounted onto crumb cake cardstock embossed with the beautifully baroque embossing folder, this time showing the debossed side, giving it a different look.

I die cut the foliage, pine cones and bow using the pretty pines thinlits from old olive, whisper white, real red and crumb cake cardstock.  I added colour and shading with stampin’ write marker pens.

The Christmas pines stamp set has some lovely sentiments.  I stamped one onto whisper white cardstock in early espresso ink and mounted it onto wood textures dsp, both die cut using the lots of labels framelits.

I hope you like my card for this week. The Design Team has created beautiful cards to inspire you, and we would love you to join our challenge…

Glittery Christmas pines, boughs & berries …

Hello and welcome to my blog.

Can you believe that it will be December next week?! Wow! I’m so glad that I’ve built a handy stash of Christmas cards with the 52 Christmas Card Throwdown Challenge. I was always leaving things to last minute and ending up having to buy my cards, and felt guilty to boot!  But joining the fabulous ladies at the 52 Christmas Card Challenge means I have my cards all ready and waiting to go.

Over on the blog today, for my last challenge this month, I have a stash challenge for you – I want you to get out your glitter!  Any type of glitter will do – from glitter paper, to stickles, to that stuff you sprinkle that gets all over your hands and face – wear your glitter with pride!

I edged an oval die cut with silver glass glitter…

Dabs of glitter glue were added to parts of the very vanilla embossed boughs & berries background.  It didn’t quite sparkle enough for me, so I added dazzling diamonds too – much better!

The bow is white glitter ribbon and I added more dazzling diamonds to the pretty pines die cuts, giving a pretty, frosted look.
