I’ve been playing with some of my new goodies from Stampin’ Up! – mixing some old with the new to make this pretty birthday card. I love my secret garden stamp set – flowers always make me happy! And of course, flowers can be used for just about any occasion. I used sahara sand cardstock for the base, matted and layered with basic black and whisper white.
For the main image, I first stamped onto the whisper white card with another new ink colour – soft sky – using one of my acrylic blocks. I found I got great results if I misted the ink with a little water from a spritzer bottle. Then I stamped over the top of this in sahara sand ink with the leaf image from the secret garden stamp set.
And for the flower, I used the yummy new in-colour – crisp cantaloupe – stamped in basic grey ink, cut out with the matching framelits, then used my aqua painter to add some of the same colour ink here and there to add depth. Once dry, I curled the flower a little with my bone folder to give it a bit of shape, decoupaged the centre before adding it to the card with stampin’ dimensionals.
I’m loving my new sentiment stamp set I got this month – petite pairs – which is on offer at the moment with 25% off – what a bargain! I love how the sayings go together, or can be used separately if you wish – such pretty fonts and so versatile.
Here’s what I used to make today’s cards – all supplies from Stampin’ Up!:
