Hi there! I hope you’re enjoying your weekend and that your Christmas preparations are going well. I still have lots to do – food shopping, present wrapping, and a trip to the Christmas market for some mulled wine and mince pies – all the fun stuff …
One of my friends asked me to make a card for her child-minder, who is fun loving and crazy for Christmas. She has turned her whole home into a magical grotto for all the children she looks after. She sounds like my kind of girl! I decided to make a group of cute penguins using the owl punch from Stampin’ Up, and then set them into a wintery scene.
I love the way these little guys looked together, with their sparkly red hearts. It turned out to be a really cute penguin party, don’t you think?
I added some snowflakes to the background in whisper white and illuminate inks, using festive flurry and gorgeous grunge – which is great for adding random little dots wherever you need them! And I love the red glimmer “merry” cut out with the expressions thinlits – the red, sparkly glimmer against the snowy background really makes it pop!
I’m entering my card at the 52 (Christmas) card throw down challenge, where we have to pick any of the previous challenges from the past year – I’ve chosen Christmas animals from March 2013.
Here’s what I used to make today’s card – all supplies from Stampin’ Up!:
cardstock: shimmery white, bashful blue (retired), whisper white, basic black, pumpkin pie, red glimmer paper; stamp sets: festive flurry, gorgeous grunge; inks: whisper white, illuminate glimmer watermark ink; punches: snowflake (retired); accessories: expressions thinlits, bigshot machine, adhesive rhinestones, stampin’ dimensionals, two-way glue pen, dazzling diamonds.
I love receiving your messages, so if you have any questions, or you just want to say hi, do please leave me a comment.
